I can’t think of anyone who has a bigger heart than Adriana Shuman. When Adriana and Mark first moved to Santa Barbara they learned their new home had been a Design Showcase House for Calm. They immediately researched the organization and found out the mission: to prevent, assess, and treat victims of child abuse. They became donors but their involvement did not stop there.

When Adriana opened Summer For Kids it was very well received. Adriana worked very hard but felt like something was missing from her goal of having a successful safe children’s store.

She dug deep into her big heart and realized she wanted to give back to the community in an even bigger way.

Two years ago the Shuman’s decided to give all of their profits from their store to local non-profits.

This is such an innovative and selfless way to educate the public and to help the children in our community.

Adriana is certainly one of a kind. How lucky we are to have her and her family in Santa Barbara!!

Made by a very passionate young children’s teacher, Diana Mercer, Clementine Art has not only inspired us here at Summer for Kids, but has helped inspire children all over with their ALL-NATURAL, unique, colorful and well-designed products. No matter what art supply you might be looking for; paints, crayons, rock crayons, modeling dough, markers, or glue. . Hand picked and approved by Summer For Kids, because it’s safe for children.Clementine Art makes it, and Summer for Kids sells it

As you may have already noticed, here at Summer for Kids our top concern is your child’s safety, which is why we carry a company like Clementine Art. Made here in the U.S.A, and are required to pass rigorous safety standards that ensure products are safe and healthy, Clementine Art is art you can feel good about.  Their high quality art supplies are ALL-NATURAL, certified NON-TOXIC, ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, plus it is made of 100% POST CONSUMER RECYCLED AND REUSABLE MATERIALS, such as their:

-PAINTS, which are colored using earth based, non-toxic mineral pigments, as are the company’s markers and crayons. All of these also contain absolutely no chemical dyes or other artificial additives.

-MODELING DOUGH, which is composed of simple ingredients such as flour and water, similar to what is found in natural baked bread. The dough is colored using natural foods like turmeric, carmine, annatto and spinach, and is scented using natural scents like strawberry, lemon and lime.

-CRAYONS, which are made from kosher soy wax and mineral pigments, where as other conventional crayons are made from paraffin wax, a petroleum product.

These products are not just ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE, and SAFE FOR YOUR CHILDREN, but they also help inspire and encourage child developmental skills. Such as their unique soy-based crayon rocks which were particularly designed to encourage motor and writing skills in small children. In fact all the Clementine products are built to support the best practice standards for early childhood art education.

Diane Mercer says it best, “Clementine Art products help to develop your child’s creative voice. Our unique, engaging and natural art supplies will inspire your child naturally and safely.”
